Last night....

Last night I had experienced one mind blowing dream... To begin, I was in an white, perfectly spotless room with me the only thing occupying it. I had then begun to look around and see if I could find anything hidden that might be useful. I was going from corner to corner of the obsessive compulsive seeming room finding absolutly nothing. Becoming less than sane I started punching the walls hoping to break free from the ironically hellish room with no luck at first, yet a few punches later I had finally broken a piece of the wall. I started breaking more and more of the wall, kicking and punching trying to remove the drywall. Once I had excavated a large enough hole for my six feet six inch body I peeked out to see what awaited me, it seemed like just another empty field from my previous nights dream. Eager to break free I jumped out of the white room and onto the fluffy grass, It seemed to have been about a five foot drop. Curious of my surroundings I began exploring as I went to the end of the fluffy, green grassed feild I saw a waterfall, realizing this was all a dream I enthusiastically jumped off the enormous waterfall swooping down like a bald eagel for it's prey only then to land in what seemed like a twenty foot nile crocodile, which then led to me waking up all sweaty.

What You Didn't Know About Dreaming...

Dreams Get Rid of Emotional Arousal

It has been determined for some time that dreams involve a great deal of emotion. Although, not all emotion causes dreaming. Only emotional arousal which wasn't ridded of while awake causes us to dream. So, for example, if you have an argument with your best friend you are unlikely to dream about it as the emotional arousal was allowed full expression. However, if you become angry with a co-worker but cannot express it then this frustration will probably be played out during dreaming.

How Do Dreams Work?

The brain will 'flush out' emotional arousal by creating a dream of a scenario that reflects the real-life experience. So, the work colleague from above might be symbolised by a monster and your anger would be allowed expression as you attacked the dream creature.

If you go on angrily over the same issues the next day then you may well have a repetitive dream as the brain solves the same problem in the same way.

My first dream post!

Last night I had one of the most shockingly weird dream... It started off with me in an open feild, there were numbers of just random people gathered around me and what seemed to be someone I was fighting against. During the dream I was just beginning to realize I had mutant powers like from X-men. My powers were that I could create fire with the palm of my hands similar to "Pyro" from X-men. I wasn't a pro at it or anything so I then went to "Professor X", who taught me how to harness my powers and begin to use them with ease and deadly force. Suddenly then I appeared back in the fighting circle and I generated a decent sized fireball, put my palms together and blasted the blazing fireball at my opponent, whome of which was unrecognizeable. The fireball hit the enemy directly in the forehead only then to end my dream.
